My School Started a Recycling Club, and It's Actually Fun
Last month, three kids in my class asked our teacher if we could start a recycling club. She said yes, and now every Friday we collect paper, bottles, and cans from every classroom in the school. At first only ten kids joined. Now more than thirty kids come every week, and we even made posters to teach younger students what can and can't be recycled. The best part is our "green points" board — classrooms that recycle the most get a shoutout at Friday assembly. Our teacher says the school is throwing away almost half as much trash as before. Next month we want to start composting food scraps from lunch too. If your school doesn't have a recycling club yet, maybe it's time to start one!
